Seva Series are yoga workshops offered up to once a month at Heartspace Yoga where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to a charity, community group, or global cause. The teachers and receiving organizations will vary from month to month.
The idea for Seva Series was conceived when a few yoga teachers, saddened by the
headlines, asked, "What can we do to help?"
The answer was clear: seva. Seva is the Sanskrit word for selfless service. We can all
make a difference one deep breath at a time.
Please note that class cards will not be accepted for Seva Series. Checks can be made
out to the receiving organization.
If you would like to recommend an organization
or charity that would benefit from the Seva Series, please contact Carrie Will at

Saturday February 18th, 2-3PM
- Donation class offered by instructor Sarah Peters for triathletes and athletes of all stripes who ask a lot of their bodies and want to find new ways to open and release.
- Being
a triathlete requires diligence, will, strength, agility, and endurance
in mind, body and spirit. On February 18th at 2:00 p.m,
Capital District Triathlon Club (CDTC) member and HeartSpace yoga
instructor, Sarah Peters, will be offering an hour long yoga class to
emphasize all of these qualities and help triathletes improve their
experience and performance of the sport. She will help open up chests
from hovering over handle bars, hamstrings from pulling legs forward or
up to run or ride, challenge the core strength of each participant and
do much more while helping us relax what the long hours of training do
both mentally and physically.*
- This month’s proceeds
will be donated to Troy Bike Rescue (http://troybikerescue.org/about)
to build the local bicycling community. Donations of spare bike
accessories, tools, bikes, or cash will be accepted and donated the week
of February 18, 2012. All triathletes are invited, regardless of yoga
experience, to join in on an afternoon during the triathlon off-season
to relax and support a common goal of helping everyone enjoy the road
more.
*There will be no graphs or charts to optimize your experience in yoga but breath rates and depth will be monitored!
